Case Crew Parent's Page
New to the sport of rowing and have some questions? Want to know what your fellow parents are up to during
the racing season? Need information about out of town races, where to eat, where to stay, where to gather?
The Spartan Alumni Rowing Association (S.A.R.A.) functions as a "booster club" for Case Crew and is here
to help you connect with your children and other parents.
However, we are different in one key area - we're a separate, independent 501(c)3 organization. This means all gifts to us
are tax deductible. Also, since we're a small group only focused on supporting the rowing team, as opposed to the
university's athletic department, we can release funds extremely quickly when the team and coaches need support.
No one is paid at SARA so 100% of the funds donated end up benefitting your daughter or son!
Our current parent coordinator is [TBD -- who's up for volunteering?]. Please reach out to her to let her know
you'd like to help with the parent's activities.
The major responsibilities as coordinator are to be able to answer some of the above questions for other parents
and to serve as a point of contact for other parents (information sharing). She also helps coordinate regatta support
(e.g. food, drinks, etc.) for the crew's regattas.
Parents play a crucial role in making a regatta a success for the athletes and to get other parents there to cheer your kids on.
Case Crew travels all over the Midwest and East Coast for regattas, and SARA is trying to facilitate a
more organized approach to supporting the team.
One easy way to help us is to ensure that you always buy stuff on Amazon using the link on the SARA site. Using our
link generates a small referral fee that helps the annual operating budget, but you need to click the link first
before each time you shop. So every time you think Amazon, just go to our site first and click the logo.
It's super easy with the links sprinkled throughout the SARA site, and the money makes a huge difference to the team.
