Dedication of the Agnar Pytte
The Agnar Pytte was Case Crew's first-ever shell. It is 1986 Kaschper midweight 8+ (fiberglass and wood) and was
already eight years old when we got it. It was last worked on and raced in 2004!
The shell was purchased from Villanova and Jack St. Clair in February of 1994. Funding for the purchase came from a grant from the
president of our university, and now his name graces the bow. Ten 1984 Concept II macon blades were also purchased along with the boat, which
also had to be nicely painted with Case's own blade design before the dedication.

1984 Schoenbrod heavyweight 4+ - fiberglass and wood, stern coxed The "Lenny" was sitting on a rack in the
Western Reserve Rowing Association's boathouse for a number of years in a state of disrepair. Case Crew purchased
the boat in January of 1995 with a committment to fix it. Craig Agricola, Amy Kozlowski, Ram Fish and
Doug Rathburn spent the entire spring rebuilding it. The money to purchase and repair the shell came from
the Case Alumni Association (with the help of Roger Cerne the then president of the CAA). The founder of the
Case Institute of Technology's name was respectfully placed on the bow. Five 1988 Concept 2 macon blades
were purchased to go with the shell.
The trailer that was carrying the Lenny was rear-ended while pulling out of the parking lot of the 1995
Head of the Ohio. The shell was sent to Biddeford, Maine under
the care of Charlie Dibble to be repaired. The original hull color was a bare, faded yellow but during the
repair the hull was painted gray to match the school colors.
West Virginia Governor's Cup 1996 Team Photo
Classic team photo in front of the golden dome of the West Virinia capitol building in Charleston, West Virginia. In the photo you can see the
frist ever crews to win medals at the Governor's Cup. In the 90's the regatta drew crews from all over the country and followed a 2-day
format with heats on Saturday and finals on Sunday. The Governor's Cup was always the end-of-season championship for the whole team. In later
years the team started sending select crews to Dad Vails, but the Governor's Cup mark the end of a long year for the entire team. Getting a medal
or even making the finals has always been a quest for all Case Crew rowers.
