Supporting S.A.R.A. & Case Crew
The Spartan Alumni Rowing Association (SARA) is an independent, tax exempt organization devoted to supporting rowing
at Case Western Reserve University. Your donations are fully tax deductible and directly support the team.
Give to the Annual Fund:
The SARA Annual Fund is our primary vehicle to support CWRU Crew. Donations represent unrestricted annual operating funds
that are used to benefit Case rowing maintaining their fleet of shells, insurance, coaching and attending regattas nationwide.

Set up with the University in 2012, the coaching endowment provides perpetual funds to the team for coaching stipends and expenses.

Make the check to "Case Western Reserve University" and designate "Spartan Alumni Rowing Association Coaching Endowment" in the memo section or attached note.

Giving to the endowment via the web:
1. Visit the CWRU "Make a Gift" web site here.
2. Click on the "I would like to give to a specific school or area at CWRU".
3. Scroll all of the way to the bottom of the options and select "Other - Please specify in Special Instruction".
4. Then type "Spartan Alumni Rowing Association Coaching Endowment" in the special instructions box.
5. Finally, fill out the donation information per usual.

Dues are currently set at $5 per year. Only dues-paying members are entitled to vote at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Benefits of SARA Membership
With your membership in the Spartan Alumni Rowing Association,
you will be supporting SARA and Case Crew, able to vote in SARA elections, and row under
the SARA banner at USRowing
sanctioned regattas (with a valid individual USRowing
membership). If you can't attend in person to the Annual General Meeting (AGM), you will get an invite to participate via teleconference.

Other Ways to Support Case Crew & SARA
It is through the generosity of alums that Case Crew will realize its potential. Time spent in meetings,
dealing with bureaucracy, and worrying about finding money for a new skeg is not time spent on the water
or in the gym getting faster. Please consider donations of time, equipment or money

Become a Class or Cohort Representative |
We're looking for volunteers to become class or cohort representatives. As a Cohort Rep, you will be asked
to help SARA communicate with 5-10 alums that you either rowed with or graduated at roughly the same time. We have all developed lasting friendships
during our time on the team and being a Cohort Rep will help leverage those friendships. You'll be expected
to help SARA maintain up-to-date contact information for each person in your cohort and help us disseminate
information to your small group. You may already have your informal network of crew alumni so feel
free to volunteer and pick your own cohort.

Cheer on the Team |
When Case Crew is in town go meet the team and cheer them on! The students and coaches would like to meet you.
You may consider offering to host them in your house or bringing food to the team on race day. How many of us remember crashing on a parent's floor the
night before a race or even some yummy regatta brownies? If you'd like to know the latest race schedule
or other opportunities to help the team when they come to your town just send us an email.

Sales of Death Row™ t-shirts directly benefit SARA and Case Crew.
Proceeds from recent sales were used to refurbish the Pytte in 2005 and other ongoing maintenance issues.

Time or money. When we were on the team, we all thought it'd be great to have a strong alumni base that could buy us stuff.
Well now is the time! We've set up SARA as an independent, tax exempt organization that will allow your
donations to be fully tax deductible (if you qualify - consult your tax professional) and directly support the team.
Rest assured that all of your donation will go to the team. You can even direct your gift to a special cause
like that new 8+ you always wanted to donate!
