Newly Minted Alumna Featured in Case Magazine
May 2006: Graduating senior, Katherine Allen, featured prominently in the Spring 2006 Case Magazine section
featuring 2006 graduates. She's receiving her B.S. in geological sciences and plans to head to England and Cambridge
for a master's. She cites as her favorite place off campus as being rowing on the Cuyahoga! I think we
can all relate to the peaceful early morning rows with the fog, city lights and bridges reminding us how great a sport
this is.

If you have the hard copy, she's on page 10.
Case Women Finish Season Strong at Dad Vails
May 12-13, 2006: Case sent a Varsity Openweight Women's 4+ to this year's Dad Vail Regatta. After winning their
heat on Friday by 4 seconds, they progressed to the semi-final on Saturday. In their semi this boat full of seniors
were sitting in 5th by the 1250m mark. The crew dug deep and rowed through both Barry and Buffalo to finish 3rd and
just missed the finals by 5 seconds. The winner of their semi,
Penn State, went on to win in the final. This was
the final race for these ladies in Case gear, but we wish them luck and appreciate the fantastic precedent for the
juniors and sophomores next year.

The weather turned out to be beautiful allowing people to enjoy the racing and reconnect after years of being away
from the team. Alumni showed their support by donating over $4,000 to SARA for the purchase of some Nielsen-Kellerman
rowing electronics and a new regatta tent. The team directly raised nearly $500 on the day
from a raffle for naming rights to an oar and for some Case Crew gear.
The festivities continued on into the evening at the
Great Lakes Brewery.
Photos and commentary from the day can be found HERE.

Case Crew Successful at UAA Championships!
April 2, 2006: Case Crew took on its
UAA rivals at the annual
University Rowing Association Championship Regatta
held at Lake Arthur just north of Pittsburgh. Crews from
Wash U,

were in attendance.
Case Crew's women could not even field boats for last year's race due to attrition and injury. They came storming back
this year with a silver medals in the women's open & novice fours. They also took bronze in the open eight, which
took them to fourth overall in the team standings. After a strong showing last year, the men's team is currently re-building
this year. The men bested Brandeis in the men's open four in the first year that Brandeis attended the regatta.
Wash U took home both point trophies for men & women. The silver Case Alumni Cup for men's team points was
generously donated by SARA three years ago in support of the race.
